Lisa...
Lisa Clark moved to Austin , TX in August of
2005.
She began her life and career in
Los Angeles ,
California . The daughter of Grammy award
winning bass player/arranger, Buddy Clark (of Supersax fame), Lisa
found it natural to fall into performing. She
spent many years in a female jazz harmony vocal trio which took her
across the world and allowed her the privilege of performing with
the group and as a soloist with The Duke
Ellington Orchestra, Tex
Beneke and his Orchestra and the Pat Longo Orchestra, to name
a few.
She’s performed for the likes of
George Bush Sr., Roseanne
Barr and appeared on The Jerry Lewis Telethon.
She’s also appeared in many musical theatre productions in
leading roles such as Annie Oakley in “Annie Get Your Gun”, Marian the Librarian
in “The Music
Man”, and Babe in “The
Pajama Game” to name a few.
Lisa was one of the vocalists on the most recent School House
Rock recordings for ABC/Disney, The Electoral College.
She has released two CDs of her
own, one in the jazz vein titled “Blue Carousel”, the other is a
variety of styles of inspirational music titled “It’s A Good
Day.” Lisa is the featured female
vocalist with her own ten-piece band, “Lisa Clark’s Swingin’
Caravan.” She also performs as vocalist with “The Austin Jazz Band,”
“NAJO-Nacho Average Jazz Orchestra,” “The Republic of Texas Big
Band,” and “The Mambo Kings Latin Jazz Big Band of San
Antonio.”
Lisa is the music
director/soloist at The Center for Spiritual Living Greater
Austin and can be seen performing at several venues around
Austin
with smaller groups and as a soloist accompanying her vocals on
piano. Lisa writes a variety of styles of music…
jazz, adult contemporary pop, inspirational and children’s
music.
